    Why Is it Important?

Plug-In KC is an initiative by Climate Action Kansas City to scale up both the electric vehicle (EV) market, and the infrastructure needed to support a transformation in the Kansas City area to EVs in both the public and private sector.

What are the economic benefits of EVs?

Besides being much cheaper than gasoline (the cost equivalence of filling up an ev is $1.00 per gallon), EV’s have zero tailpipe emissions and are much better for the environment. As the electric grid gets cleaner and cleaner, evs will continue to become a cleaner transportation option. In addition, there is a huge benefit of creating new high-paying jobs in the region. The Panasonic plant in Desoto being just one example.
